翻 is a JLPT N1 kanji meaning flip, turn over, wave, written with 18 strokes. It is read ホン, ハン (on) and ひるがえる, ひるがえす (kun). It is one of the jōyō kanji taught in secondary school. You will see it in 翻訳 (ほんやく, translation) and 翻意 (ほんい, changing one's mind).
On'yomi: from Chinese, written in katakana. Used in compound words.
