Built on the work of many people.

Every stroke, reading and example sentence on Naraio starts with someone who shared their work. This is who they are, and the licence we use it under.

We claim no copyright over any of this data. What we built from the ShareAlike sources (the stroke drawings, the dictionary entries as the site shows them, and the Spanish meanings we translated from their English where they had none) is shared under the same licences. Naraio's own explanations, examples, design and code are not part of it.

The teachers we learn from

What Naraio teaches is checked against two teachers learners have trusted for years: Tae Kim's Guide to Learning Japanese and Maggie Sensei. Our explanations and examples are our own, and neither of them is part of Naraio. Thank you both for teaching Japanese to the world for free.
