襲 is a JLPT N1 kanji meaning attack, advance on, succeed to, written with 22 strokes. It is read シュウ (on) and おそう, かさね (kun). It is one of the jōyō kanji taught in secondary school. You will see it in 襲う (おそう, to attack) and 襲撃 (しゅうげき, attack).
